About the Convention
Each member league sponsors at least one juried show during the year that is run according to the Lone Star Art Guild Rules.
All leagues may participate in any of the shows of the other leagues that are declared open. At the end of the year, usually on the third Saturday in May, one or more of the leagues hosts a Convention.
The convention is a juried competition and show which is open for viewing by the public. The convention is particularly special, because only artwork which has won an award at any of the Lone Start Art Guild member league shows throughout the year is eligible to be entered.
This makes the convention a show place for prize-winning artwork only.
The convention consists of the artwork exhibit which is judged by 2 to 3 judges, the banquet for the 300 or more artists and guests and several demonstrations which are held simultaneously and feature nationally and locally known artists.
Workshops may also be held the week prior to the convention and the week after the convention.
