Class Title: Intro to Art Journaling
Instructor: Sara Saravo
Ages: Adults and Teens
Art journaling is an open-ended form of art where the focus is on the process of creating and self-expression rather than the final product. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced artist, art journaling can benefit you in many ways. With a few inexpensive supplies and some common household items, the possibilities are endless.
In this class, you will learn the basics of art journaling while having fun experimenting and learning creative ways to fill your pages. We will focus on techniques and materials that will introduce you to creating an art journal that is "uniquely you."
The cost of the class includes all the materials you will need to get started on this journey of self-care as well as personal and/or artistic growth. You will be able to take home a set of supplies that will help you continue this creative practice after you leave the class. You will also be invited to join a FB page where you can share your work and your discoveries as well as see examples from other art journalers.
You may want to bring papers that can be used to collage into your journal such as patterned papers, a xerox copy of a special letter from a loved one, doodles, images that are special to you (from magazine or printed from internet), etc. You do not need to buy any papers. We will make some in class and I will have a few things for you to choose from.
